Rules of the Library & Annual Subscription Fees

1.   Adult borrowers should be over 16 years of age and permanent residents of the Isle of Man.  Junior/student borrowers should be in full time education or under 16 years of age.  They MAY ONLY borrow adult books with parent or guardian's permission.

 

2.  Borrowers are issued with 4 reader tickets per subscription which may be used for fiction and non-fiction books.  Details of membership subscription fees are available from the Librarian.

 

3.  Holiday makers and temporary residents may also borrow books on production of a membership card from their own library or alternatively by leaving a deposit of £10 with the Librarian for the duration of their stay when it will be returned in full.

 

4.  Overdue books will be charged at the rate of 10 pence per book per week up to a maximum of three months.  Thereafter an account for the full cost of replacement of the book will be forwarded to the borrower.

 

5.  Any borrower who habitually loses books and does not pay the replacement cost will be placed on a "banned" list.  This will not include use of the Reference section during Library Hours.

 

6.  Junior Members will not be fined.  However should a book not be returned within the time as stated in 4. above an account for the replacement of same will be forwarded to the child's parent or guardian.
