A Two Minute Silence in remembrance of all those who have died in the service of their country will be observed in the Castletown at 11.00am on:-
Friday 11th November (Armistice Day)
and
Sunday 13th November (Remembrance Sunday)
Arrangements have been made to give warning of the precise moment at which the Two Minute Silence will begin and end.
The full co-operation of the public in the observance of the Two Minute Silence is requested.
The suspension of all vehicular traffic between 11.00am and 11.02am on the designated days is also requested and it is especially hoped that drivers of motor vehicles will stop the engines of vehicles during the periods of silence.
On Remembrance Sunday a parade will leave the Town Hall at 9.40 for a 10am service in Arbory St Methodist Church.
This will be followed by the laying of wreaths and the act of remembrance at the war memorial.
His Excellency Lieutenant-General. Sir John Lorimer. KCB DSO MBE is understood to be joining those gathered for the wreath laying ceremony on Remembrance Sunday.
