Individual Banned From Amenity Site

The Board of the Southern Recycling Centre, working in co-operation with the Manx Constabulary, have issued their first Banning Order, banning a Rushen resident from using the site for a period of six months due to verbal abuse of staff. The event involved went as far a report to the Attorney General, where it was decided that a simple banning order was more appropriate than prosecution.

The Chairman of the Board, Mr Jerry Ludford- Brooks said

“You only have to read the current press to understand that inappropriate behaviour is no longer being tolerated. Our staff strive to provide a service to our community in a friendly and professional environment. They have all been trained in customer communications skills. Unfortunately, due to the behaviour of a minority of our customers, we have also had to provide training in how to handle conflict and aggression. This Board has a Zero Tolerance Policy on any form of abuse of our staff and today has taken action to support them. We hope that by publicising this it will prevent this behaviour from being repeated by others. I would like to thank the Manx Constabulary for their support in identifying and pursuing those involved.”
